Privacy Policy & Terms of Service
Last Updated: May 2026
At SafeServe India, protecting your data is as important to us as protecting food safety. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard your information in full compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP) 2023 of India.
1. Information We Collect
We only collect the information necessary to provide our certification and training services:
- Personal Information: Name, phone number, and email address when you request an audit or issue a training certificate.
- Business Information: Restaurant name, location, FSSAI license number (if applicable), and operational details required for conducting physical audits.
- Training Data: Quiz scores, module completion status, and simulator performance data to issue your Handler Cards.
2. Public Verification Page (Important)
To maintain transparency and trust with the public, certain information about certified establishments is made publicly available. When someone scans your SafeServe QR code, they will see:
- Your Restaurant/Business Name
- Your SafeServe Audit Grade (A-E)
- Audit Date and Expiry Date
- Certification Status (Valid/Expired)
No financial information or personal contact details of the owners will be shared publicly.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data strictly to operate our certification body:
- To generate and issue your official Establishment Certificates and Handler Cards.
- To send 30-day renewal reminders before your certificate expires.
- To schedule surprise audits in the event of consumer complaints.
- To improve our web-based training tools.
4. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your data. We will only share your information with third parties under the following circumstances:
- If strictly required by Indian law enforcement or regulatory bodies (such as FSSAI) for public health compliance.
- With trusted hosting providers (like Hostinger) that store our secure databases.
5. Data Security
We implement strict access controls and database security measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. All digital certificates are generated securely.
6. Your Rights (DPDP 2023)
Under the DPDP Act 2023, you have the right to:
- Request a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of any inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data by emailing us at safeserveindia@gmail.com. (Note: Deleting certification records will invalidate your public QR code and revoke your active certification).
7. Terms of Service, Liability & Revocation Policy
By applying for and displaying a SafeServe India (SSI) certification, you agree to the following terms:
- Strict Compliance: The certified establishment must continuously maintain the hygiene standards documented during the audit.
- No Liability: SafeServe India is an independent auditing body. SSI assumes zero legal or financial liability for any foodborne illnesses, customer complaints, health hazards, or legal actions taken against the certified restaurant. Display of the certificate does not transfer operational liability to SSI.
- Immediate Revocation: If an establishment fails to follow SSI rules, or if severe hygiene violations are reported and verified, SSI reserves the right to immediately revoke the certification. The digital QR code will instantly display a "Revoked" status to the public.
- No Refunds: In the event of a certification revocation due to hygiene failures, or if an establishment fails the initial audit, no fee refunds will be issued under any circumstances.
